Bridge
the gap.

Between where medicine is and where it should be, there is a gap. Between the science that exists and the care most people receive, there is a gap. Between your life today and the one you are capable of living, there is a gap. I bridge it.

About

Dr Mishkat
Shehata

Dr Mishkat Shehata is a board-certified physician executive and internationally recognised authority in longevity and healthspan medicine, with over 16 years of clinical and executive leadership experience. She works at the intersection of precision medicine, clinical governance, and health systems innovation, designing, commissioning, and scaling evidence-based longevity programmes across the GCC and globally.

Her work is driven by a single conviction: prevention should be the default standard of care. She has spent her career bridging the gap between the science of healthy ageing and the systems that deliver it, translating complex, multi-omic, evidence-based medicine into scalable clinical models that work in the real world.

A UK-trained board-certified physician executive, Dr Shehata holds a Double Master's in Public Health across the University of Copenhagen and the University of Sheffield. She is credentialled across Family Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Functional Medicine, and has published peer-reviewed research in the BJGP Open, BMJ, and Family Medicine & Community Health.

She currently serves as Chief Medical Officer at OMICS Precision Health, the GCC's first integrated Healthspan Medicine and Translational Geroscience centre in Dubai, and as CEO of IF//THEN, a strategic consultancy in healthspan medicine and health systems commissioning. She also serves as Vice President and Founding Member of the Emirates Lifestyle & Longevity Medicine Society (ELLMS), leading capacity building, physician education, and the society's annual conference.

The problem

Medicine is brilliant at treating
what is already broken.

"Between where medicine is and where it should be, there is a gap.
I bridge it."

The science of healthy ageing has advanced faster than any healthcare system has been able to absorb it. We know more about the biology of disease prevention than ever before. We have the diagnostics, the data, and the clinical protocols to identify risk years, even decades, before symptoms appear.

Yet most people see a doctor only when something has already gone wrong. Most physicians are trained to react, not to prevent. Most health systems are built to manage disease, not to extend the years in which you are well, sharp, and fully alive.

That is the gap. And it is entirely bridgeable.

How the gap gets bridged

Not a single lever.
A system.

The gap between the science and the standard of care gets bridged through three interconnected mechanisms. Each one operates at a different scale. Together they build the ecosystem that makes preventive medicine not just possible, but mainstream.

01

Clinical commissioning

Building the systems
from the ground up.

Bridging the gap starts with building the clinical infrastructure that makes evidence-based longevity medicine deliverable at scale. Dr Shehata has designed, commissioned, and led three longevity programmes across the GCC, from governance frameworks and clinical protocols to multidisciplinary teams and advanced diagnostic integration.

This is not consulting from a distance. It is getting into the architecture of a healthcare system and rebuilding it around prevention, from the inside.

02

Physician education & capacity building

Training the doctors
who close the gap next.

As Vice President and Founding Member of the Emirates Lifestyle & Longevity Medicine Society (ELLMS), Dr Shehata co-established the first Lifestyle Medicine Fellowship for physicians in the UAE and facilitated the educational partnership with the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine (IBLM) for UAE physician certification.

Through ELLMS's annual conference and the IBLM board certification pathway, she is building the next generation of preventive medicine practitioners across the region. The gap gets bridged one trained physician at a time.

03

Academic research & publishing

Anchoring practice
in evidence.

The gap also gets bridged through knowledge. As an Academic Clinical Fellow at the University of Warwick and a contributor to peer-reviewed journals including the BJGP Open, BMJ, and Family Medicine & Community Health, Dr Shehata translates emerging science into frameworks that clinicians and organisations can act on.

She sits on the International Editorial Board of Lifestyle Medicine Advances (BMJ journal), bringing the same rigour to published work as to clinical practice.

Expert advisory

Strategic. Evidence-based.
Built around your question.

01

Bring your question

Come with the challenge you are trying to solve. A venture you are building, a market you are trying to understand, a decision you need to make, or a landscape you want decoded. The sharper the question, the more value you take away.

02

Access 16 years of pattern recognition

In 30 minutes you get direct access to the strategic and scientific thinking behind three longevity programmes, two CMO roles, global advisory work, and peer-reviewed research. A precise, opinionated perspective on what the evidence says and what it means for you.

03

Leave with clarity and direction

You leave with a framework, a point of view, and a clear next step. Actionable thinking you can use immediately, whether you are building something, investing in something, or trying to understand where the field is going.
